Media Report Response:
Security Vulnerability Statement
May 29, 2026
Pay Tel is aware of recent media reports referencing a vulnerability, or security flaw, in a component of our systems architecture.
On May 11, 2026, Pay Tel was contacted by a reputable security researcher regarding a cloud storage configuration that allowed public access to certain files associated with customer account setup, including identification images. Pay Tel appreciates the responsible disclosure of this issue.
Upon receiving this notification, Pay Tel took immediate action. Public access to the identified cloud storage space was disabled the same day, and the underlying configuration was secured. Pay Tel promptly conducted a broader review of its cloud environment and implemented additional safeguards to ensure that all related storage links are appropriately secured. All remediation measures were tested and fully deployed by May 14, 2026.
Based on Pay Tel’s review to date, there is no indication that this vulnerability was known to or accessed by anyone other than the security researchers who reported it to Pay Tel. There is no evidence of any misuse of data associated with the discovered vulnerability.
Pay Tel continues to review its systems and records and is working with independent third party professionals to validate its assessment. At this time, Pay Tel has no reason to believe that this matter presents a risk of harm to customer information. Should that assessment change, Pay Tel will take appropriate action, including providing any direct notifications required by law.
Pay Tel is committed to maintaining the security of its systems and the information entrusted to it. We will continue to monitor this matter closely and will provide updates on this page as additional relevant information becomes available.
The recent reports have also referenced a separate and unrelated incident that was first reported in the media in June 2025. Pay Tel previously mitigated the risk associated with that event and has responded to customer inquiries as they arise. Pay Tel continues to evaluate the information potentially affected by that event and will provide notice to customers as appropriate and consistent with applicable legal obligations.
